Beautifully and clearly explained the beauty and richness of the first 3 years of ‘oral’ practice of the foreign language.
‘Gestures not just actions’, having a ‘repertoire’ hence repetition, enjoying it, being authentic, It is not just an ‘oral soup, but the individual speaking at his own place’ indeed.
Thank you.
A lot of examples of “good practice”! Not only WHAT but HOW is important.
Repetitions with variation, from simple to complex
Repeat with contrasts; breathing in and out
Choral speaking and individual speaking
Inwardly filled gestures, not just outward actions
Know your intention for songs, etc.
Weave new materials into the flow of the lesson
Trust one’s source of imagination but also practise your teaching
Build up scaffold of formulaic expressions
Build a big repertoire!
