In the following video I will give you an overview over the whole course, even though the course is divided into two parts. So you know what’s waiting for you in this course and can already anticipate what’s going to happen in part 2.
Additionally, a written overview about topics and activities is provided below.
Throughout the course the various topics which will be presented in a combination of video interviews, texts, examples and suggestions for the classroom, journaling and research tasks and the invitation to share your experience in the discussion forum as well as in your community circle.
We have tried to create a meaningful variety that speaks to less as well as more experienced teachers from lower, middle and upper school (a real Waldorf challenge 🙂 by
and we trust that you will find those elements that are most meaningful for you.
As the different topics and the material provided build on each other we strongly recommend that you follow the structure of the course and also look into those parts that seem to be speaking about classes you don’t teach – even if you choose to do so with different intensity – because as we understand foreign language learning it should definitely be looked at in a holistic way. This means we need to have a picture of the whole process in order to understand our responsibilities in taking over one of its parts.
It has to be mentioned that we are very aware of the fact that the huge field of foreign language teaching and learning cannot be plowed sufficiently within six weeks – so we see this as a beginning and we invite you to participate in planting and tending more seeds for elewa – thus helping us to shape a meaningful path for a global community of foreign language teachers.
Each week new material will be released, so each week you will have the chance to watch videos and read texts about a certain topic. Alongside we will provide tasks to work on and invite you to share your thoughts in the discussion forum. However, if you feel the course is moving too fast for you, then just take your time and do the things in your own pace. There is no need to hurry!
We hope that you will experience the course as helpful.
