Since we trust that you have worked on the first part of the elwa course 'Sustainable language teaching and learning' before starting this course, we won't explain our understanding of foreign language teaching and learning again. Neither will we introduce the different tools of teacher learning again, since we have already done so quite thoroughly in the previous part. However, we will give all participants the chance to introduce themselves and to get into touch with other colleagues. Moreoever we will include an overview of both parts of the course for all of you to remember what you have read and heard about in part 1.

My name is June Lin, or Yu-chu Lin in Chinese. I am from Leichuan Waldorf School, Taichung, Taiwan. I am the initiative and the founder to this school. I have been working in this school from kindergarten to high school for 27 years. I’ve just finished the translation of the book “Growing up Healthy in a World of Digital Media” from Michaela Glocker. It is on the way of publishing in Taiwan.
I hope there will be some topics covering these parts in our course:
How can we make media tools good use and be good aid of us;
How can we teach our children learn the way to hold themselves, but not to loose themselves to the media whenever they have to work together with the media tools or approach to the media before they are independent or mature enough.
Dear all, my name is Fien Van der Haegen. I am happy to meet you in this course. My professional life shows a diversity of roles: artist, Waldorf art teacher, and staff member in the domain of art, culture, and media of the Flemish guidance service. The use of media is a natural given in the area of my creative work.
I love to explore artistic ways. I think the best teachers are eternal students, that’s why I love to learn by being with you in this course.

Hi,
My name is Zsuzsi Jung. I’m from Hungary. I’ve been working in Waldorf schools for seven years now as an English teacher and I’ve been a class teacher for two years now. I’ve started working on this topic with the parents in my class on day one and got a bit stuck.
So, I’m really looking forward to this course.
Best,
Zsuzsi
My name is Slavomir Lichvar. I have been teaching in elementary Waldorf school since 2007 – as language teacher, gardening teacher and class teacher. Ever since I have been connected to Slovak association of waldorf schools and kindergartens. I am interested in questions of media curriculum as I think it is a crucial point of deep teacher-student relation – especially when the teen-age starts.
