Since we trust that you have worked on the first part of the elwa course 'Sustainable language teaching and learning' before starting this course, we won't explain our understanding of foreign language teaching and learning again. Neither will we introduce the different tools of teacher learning again, since we have already done so quite thoroughly in the previous part. However, we will give all participants the chance to introduce themselves and to get into touch with other colleagues. Moreoever we will include an overview of both parts of the course for all of you to remember what you have read and heard about in part 1.

memories become a mental construct
learning to me is experiencing the joy of successfully overcoming the inner resistance and pain associated with having to deal with an unknown subject matter or a new skill and in turn to then rejoice once the initial pain of struggling is receding while gradually being replaced with the new skill or knowledge, giving way to a feeling deep satisfaction, of increased confidence and self-efficacy…
For me, interrelation is one of the key aspects of learning.
It requires various elements (feelings, experiences, stages, participants, environments) and can take on various dimensions due to the individual character of learning (e.g. personal view of the world). Although being a personal and individual process it is also intertwined with collective (together).
The right balance of these numerous factors can transform struggle into achievement (i.e. learning something new or realizing what one already knows).
