Since we trust that you have worked on the first part of the elwa course 'Sustainable language teaching and learning' before starting this course, we won't explain our understanding of foreign language teaching and learning again. Neither will we introduce the different tools of teacher learning again, since we have already done so quite thoroughly in the previous part. However, we will give all participants the chance to introduce themselves and to get into touch with other colleagues. Moreoever we will include an overview of both parts of the course for all of you to remember what you have read and heard about in part 1.

Here would be the space to look for colleagues who are interested in forming a community circle for regular meetings (online or offline) and practicing collegial communication. It is helpful to already suggest a time (and place for offline) at which you could regularly attend a meeting. Good luck!
My name is Yaroslav. I work as a teacher of social sciences in the Dnipro Waldorf school in Ukraine.
At the moment I am in Kassel, Germany, where I participate in International training weeks. Here I met Martin Rawson, one of the tutors of the course. The approach to teaching in high school, which Martin introduced, found a response in my soul and I would like to continue my acquaintance with it in connection with the assessment.
Especially since assessment as a compromise is a traditional subject of discussion in the Waldorf school. For me personally, there is today such a specific question regarding assessment: can assessment be a healthy pedagogical tool at all?
My personal intention to work in high school is based on responsibility for the future I feel for myself. For the future that is being shaped today in the high school auditoriums.
