Since we trust that you have worked on the first part of the elwa course 'Sustainable language teaching and learning' before starting this course, we won't explain our understanding of foreign language teaching and learning again. Neither will we introduce the different tools of teacher learning again, since we have already done so quite thoroughly in the previous part. However, we will give all participants the chance to introduce themselves and to get into touch with other colleagues. Moreoever we will include an overview of both parts of the course for all of you to remember what you have read and heard about in part 1.

We have a virtual meeting once or twice a week (depending on the grade)so the children can at least see each other as a group; in the younger grades, this is more of a “show and tell” session, or a time when the teacher asks each child a question about a project they are working on etc. In the upper grades (6-7) teaches use this time as a review and sharing session as less than half are actually handing in their work; and at the end, there are 15 minutes where the children can talk amongst each other.
Virtual schooling makes communication more important. Our administrator holds parent meetings every other week, and we are required to contact parents once per week with an update on their child’s progress.
Virtual schooling can be done outside the classes…One can meet through already created groups and do quizzes or PE games, for instance, or just keep in touch by chatting.
