Course overview
In this HERMMES learning journey, you are invited to explore aspects of the domains of communication, cooperation, and empathy.
To help you find your way easily, we follow a recurring structure.
In each of the three areas, we first look at what we actually understand by this term and to what extent it can be considered a competence. We then examine aspects that are relevant for all children and adolescents in relation to this competence, regardless of their age. After that, we focus on the first septennium, the grade school years, and the secondary school years.
At various points, we consider the extent to which digital media may influence the development of these competences. For the secondary school level, we also explore possibilities for integrating media or fostering awareness in dealing with them.
