Naturally we’d like to hear what you enjoyed about the course. However, we are also interested in suggestions for improvement as well as in your ideas or wishes for further elewa courses. Would you take an elewa course again? Could you notice any effect on your teaching?
I very much enjoyed the segments on storytelling, which I don’t do very often. We are still in ‘lockdown’, and I have been able to integrate some storytelling into my own childcare… I now feel more willing to playfully engage with storytelling at school and at other workshops. I wasn’t expecting this sort of development when I signed up for the course, so that’s quite cool.
I am grateful for the concrete outlines of the newspaper and film projects, which I plan to modify for my classes soon.
It is especially enriching to listen to other teachers share their experiences of what works in their classrooms, which methods they employ and what they have observed in their students.
As I do not teach a foreign language yet I can just conclude that this course stimulated me to start it as soon as possible! The bride variety of aspects in communicating media literacy in the different classes will be a solid tool for me. The material offered, the journaling tasks and the experiences of other colleagues are very helpful for a good start.
The structure of this course was perfect because one could chose his individual time and set his own pace in working through it.
A new perspective for me was the interdisciplinary example given from the lithuanian colleagues. It was very inspiring and I hope to get the chance to try this out at my school.
As I am not yet practising foreign language teaching it was a pity that I could just do all the research tasks theoretically. I wonder if they will turn out in a similar way…
I enjoyed a lot of the different sections. I appreciated the additional ideas on games. I also enjoyed the sections on storytelling and the use of newspapers. I thought that the example of the two teachers who taught a class together in Lithuania was an inspiring and modern example that I would like to emulate someday. I also like the idea of the postcard activities and plan on using this in the classroom next school year. I agree that it is quite helpful to receive materials that have been created already for some of these projects, such as with the newspapers and with film.
I also think that it was fun to meet with colleagues during the week to discuss. I think that it would be good to have more of a guideline as to what to work on in the groups. We did the suggested Kollegialkreis the first time, but then wanted to talk about the course material together. It took us a while to find a format as to how to work together as a group and how to discuss together. It might be helpful to give another format/option besides the Kollegialkreis for the group work. It is possible that this came up because not many of us are currently teaching, so after working on a question from a current teacher, we tried to find other ways of working on the course material together. For example, we had each person present what they considered a good media curriculum for a particular grade and then we discussed this and the methods one could use for that grade.
Overall, I thought the course was very helpful and want to say thank you very much for your work on this!
I enjoyed the course. There was a lot that I was already aware of, but still plenty of new information.
I especially like the approach of giving step-by-step tutorials to do larger projects like the newspaper of the creation of the film, as this is something that Waldorf is lacking at the different seminars and I would love to use some of the materials in the future.
The community circles are great, and we had a lot of fruitful discussions. However, I assume these don´t go along very good with the forum activity (which has been nearly non-existing). A lot of things are already discussed in the circles, and doing it again in the forum does feel kind of strange.
Overall, the course was very helpful, thank you for that.
I really enjoyed the course. I am not teaching yet so there was a lot of inspiration and course material in the lectures. I really looking forward to find my way of using media in class and helping the pupils to work with different media.
The step-by-step instructions to different project are very helpful. And I can imagine getting back to it later.
I really liked the community circle as well. It was great to exchange ideas and thoughts and discuss different topics.
I am glad we got to work on this course since our english courses at seminar couldn’t take place. It helped a lot to think into the future teaching tasks that will come up for me and it kept talking and thinking english present in this strange times. The community circle meetings and the journaling tasks felt especially helpful to me. In the beginning I was not quite sure if I will enjoy this course, because it seemed like extra work and I was not so familiar with online learning. But the course is very well thought through and I actually started to like the flexibility of it pretty fast.
I liked this online course very much because of the flexibility on working with the tasks. I enjoyed our group work a lot and of course our zoom meetings. I`m not teaching yet but for the future I will definitely have a look back on the course material when I’ll plan a lesson and have teaching experience. Still very helpful! Thank you.
I really enjoyed the course and the format in which it is designed. The structure is easy to follow: a short introductory video, the journaling part (that is activating and evoking our personal attitudes and experiences), articles containing examples and videos of colleagues, who shared their experiences, were very inspiring.
I’m a waldorf-teacher-to-be, so I couldn’t put any new ideas into practice, but surely I’m going to try out some like storytelling, making a radio play or a newspaper, or making a story board, if I have the chance in the future.
Thank you vary much for many valuable insights!
